Pizzeria Mundo is a new pizza joint in LoDo which opened on October 31, 2005. The shop offers a pizza and salad buffet, as well as a variety of made-to-order pizzas. Some of their pizzas are quite exotic, including rare toppings such as rabbit and rattlesnake. The atmosphere of the shop really sets it apart from most eateries in Denver -- the brightly colored decor, retro fonts, video screens, selection of foreign sodas, and exotic pizzas made me feel more like I had just walked off the streets of Tokyo than the quaint streets of our fair city's Lower Downtown.
Denver's emerging market for late-night pizza goodness should welcome this unique newcomer. Nearby, Two Fisted Mario's continues to draw huge crowds which spill out onto the Market Street sidewalk after last call. If only these hungry nightlifers knew that Pizzeria Mundo was just around the corner, perhaps they'd give up the long lines at Mario's to check it out. (Mario's makes some incredible pizza and it's worth waiting in line, but it's always good to try something different.) Between Mundo, Mario's, and (at the other end of downtown) Benny Blanco's Slice of the Bronx, Denver's night owl pizza options are growing quite diverse. I, for one, welcome our late-night pizza overlords.

I swung by Mundo on Friday night (Apr 7, 2006) around 1:00am, and they were closed up (in contradiction to the hours posted on the door). I'm not sure if they're out of business, away on vacation, or just changed the hours but didn't get around to changing the door. --Simmons 02:53, 9 April 2006 (MDT)
